Layla Majnun .... The shocking catastrophes

Internet Source

Love is an emotion that has always managed to tear away the limits of class, status in the society, religion, and even regional boundaries. If you turn the pages of history, you will find quite a few examples of some of the most overwhelming love stories which strengthen the notion, extreme passion, But, how intense can love be? No one knows the answer, and examples of such love are rare, whenever one talks about the depth of love, the intensity of passion, two names almost immediately come to mid- Laila Majnun. One such inspiring love story is the Layla Majnun love story, a tale of " MAD " love.

  • Their story is considered as a MAD love (explains the madness on her)
  • Even, today people know them as LAYLA MAJNU..., the "And" in-between is missing, they were two in flesh considered as one in spirit. (This entire story is explained without separating them with AND word in between)
  • Their story is still famous but the story is original and from
  • The story is more than 1200 years old, but still in 20th-century its been never replaced with any other love stories.
  • They are called as Layla Majnun, not Laila Majnu
The Love story is a very famous one and is no less than a legend, it is based on a young man from the northern Arabian peninsula, in the Umayyad era during the 7th century. Though the actual Layla Majnun love story is laced with blood and tragic one, it has managed to inspire generations to believe in true love.
  • Majnu is not his original name, he is called as Qays ibn al-Mullawah, the meaning of Majnun is MAD
  • His poems are worth big money, He dedicated most of them to Layla
  • his poetry was a very poignant factor in this tale, as his words were said to have incited men and women alike
Layla was a beautiful girl born in a rich family, Being no less than a princess, she was expected to marry a wealthy boy an live in grandeur and splendor. But, love is born from the heart, it knows no rules. Layla fell in love with Qays and he loved her deadly
He is a poet and belonged to the same tribe ad Layla, he used to compose Plendid love poems and dedicated to his love, telling in them his for her and mentioning her name often. His friends used to tease him and made fun of his poems and love on her. These weren't effected him much and deeply in love with Layla and it was her thoughts alone that possessed his mind all the time.
It had been quite some time that Qays toyed with the idea of seeking Layla's hand in marriage from her parents. One day, he went up to them and put the big question before them. But, Qays was a poor lad, and when he asked for Layla's hand in marriage, her father promptly refused him as he didn't want her daughter to marry below her status which is most common every time in many stories. it would mean a scandal for Layla according to Arab traditions, the places were different and the names were different seems common in each and every area and region out the globe for me.
As fate would have it, the two lovers were banished from seeing each other, soon after, she got married off to a wealthy man and she went on to live in a big mansion.
When Majnun heard the news of her marriage, he ran from the forest where he used to live and started roaming in the nearby desert in an attempt to meet Layla. Majnu's family lost all hopes of his return and they left the food for him in the jungle.
When Qays heard of her marriage was heartbroken and could write sometimes be seen reciting poetry to himself or writing Layla's name in the sand with a stick Day and night he pined for her.
From here on, we get the more peaceful, but tragic version of the Layla Majnu love story, Layla was equally in misery without Qays. She had no spirit left in her, it was said that she was as good as dead, she was no better, separated from Qays, shattered in mind, body, and soul. Not long afterward, in 688AD, she moved to Iraq with her husband, eventually, she also fell prey to eternal grief and died at her husband's place in Iraq in 688 AD, succumbing to serve illness.
When Qays's friends came to know of Laila's death, they searched for him to give the news. But, he was finally found dead in the wilderness near Layla's grave and beside him, on the rock, were inscribed the last three of his verses of poetry, dedicated to her. He came to be known in history as Majnu, or Majnun Layla, which literally means, "Driven mad by Layla".

the poems are .....
  • I will pass through these walls, from which Laila passes and I will kiss that wall that Laila passes from...
  • This is not the love of the walls in my heart that makes my heart happy, but whoever draws my attention from those walls, I love her

COMMENT IF YOU KNOW THE THIRD POEM

The love story is really tragic indeed, this kind of love is often called "KUWARA LOVE" because it is such love story lovers don not get married. there are many such love stories we seeing history, including Layla Majnun with Romeo and Juliet.

In an Alternative version, Layla's brother, Tabrez, would not allow her to bring a scandal upon them and shame the family name marrying the crazy Majnun. he blamed Tabrez for his proposal getting rejected and quarreled with him. Stricken with madness over the loss of his lover he murdered Tabrez. Word reached the village and he arrested, Majnun was sentenced to be stoned to death by villagers. Layla could not bear it and agreed to marry another man if Majnun would be exiled instead of putting to death. Her terms were accepted and she was married, but in her heart, she still pined for him. Layla's husband realized this and was infuriated, Upon finding him, Layals's husband challenged him to a duel. The instant her husband's sword pierced Majnun's hears, Layla, collapsed in her home. Layla Majnun was buried next to each other as her husband and their fathers prayed for their afterlife.

MYTH has it that Layla Majnun met again in heaven, where they loved forever. Layla Majnun did not die in vain, they died for love, and that love has immortalized them.

In my view today's love is all about fast-paced dating, making out and breaking up in no time at all. it is a great love story that is sorely needed in today's time to restore our faith in true love but I bet it wouldn't happen. Such love is hard to find today. so if ever you love someone, try to love like these two did, even today, lovers swear by their names. it is their love affair that has made Layla Majnun immortal in the accounts of great love stories.
